For most freelancers, Anfix is the cheapest accounting platform that covers the quarterly tax forms, from €4.99 a month on annual billing. Quipu is the simplest to use, Holded is the most complete, and renn is the option if you want an accountant to file your taxes for you.
We compared six platforms on price, what each plan includes and whether they are ready for Verifactu. All prices were checked on each provider's website on 17 September 2026 and exclude VAT.
If you only need to issue invoices, start with the best invoicing platform instead.
A good platform keeps your books and gives you the numbers for Modelo 303 (VAT) and Modelo 130 (income tax) every quarter. If you run an SL, it also has to produce the formal ledgers and the annual accounts.
We checked five things on each one: the price of the plan you would really need, whether it prepares the Spanish tax forms, bank connection, automatic reading of expense receipts, and whether the vendor has published its Verifactu responsible declaration.

Quipu is a Spanish tool for freelancers and small businesses. Every plan has unlimited invoices and quotes, and it reads expense receipts automatically, with 30 scans a month on Starter.
Its Verifactu responsible declaration is public, signed on 29 July 2025. The system works only in VERI*FACTU mode, so each invoice record goes to the tax agency when it is issued.
Starter €17, Solution €30 and Premium €59 a month. There is a 15-day free trial with no card, and in September 2026 the first three months were at 50% off.

Anfix covers accounting and invoicing, and many gestorías use it too, so your accountant may already know it. Modelo 303 and Modelo 130 are included from the cheapest plan.
Verifactu is included in all five plans. We did not find its responsible declaration published on its website, so ask for it before you sign.
On annual billing: Básico €4.99, Avanzado €12.49, Profesional €24.99, Empresarial €58.33 and Premium €83.33 a month. The ANFIX20 code takes 20% off.

Holded is an ERP with accounting, invoicing, CRM, projects and team management in one place. If your gestoría is a Holded partner, it gets access for free without taking a user seat.
Holded states that every plan includes invoicing with Verifactu.
Plus €15, Básico €29, Estándar €59, Avanzado €99 and Premium €199 a month. In September 2026 new accounts got 50% off for three months.

Sage Active is the cloud product from Sage, one of the largest accounting software vendors. Starter covers invoicing and leaves the accounting to an external advisor, and Essentials adds online accounting, VAT returns and annual financial statements.
It is only sold in common-regime territory. The Basque Country, Navarre, the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla are excluded.
Starter €25 and Essentials €49 a month. In September 2026 the first three months were at 50% off.

Zoho Books is the accounting app of the Zoho suite, with multi-currency transactions from the Professional plan. There is a free plan for solo businesses and micro companies.
Zoho publishes its Verifactu responsible declaration. Invoices reach the tax agency through B2Brouter, so you also need a B2Brouter account.
Free, Standard €12, Professional €24 and Premium €36 a month, or €10, €20 and €30 a month billed annually.

renn is an accounting firm with its own platform. On the Autopilot plans an accountant files your quarterly and annual VAT and income tax, and the platform handles invoices, expenses and bank connections.
Invoices issued from renn are Verifactu-compliant. There is no CRM, inventory or project module.
Copilot €0. Autopilot min €40, Autopilot €50 and Autopilot max €70 a month on annual billing, or €50, €60 and €80 paying monthly.
Entry prices hide the limits. We took a freelancer who issues 15 invoices a month and wants the quarterly VAT and income tax figures, and looked for the cheapest plan on each platform that covers it.
With the five software plans you get the numbers, but you still file the forms yourself or pay a gestoría on top. renn is the only option in this list where the price includes the filing.
From 1 January 2027 for companies and 1 July 2027 for autónomos, every invoice has to come from a system that meets Verifactu. The tax agency does not publish a list of approved software, so each vendor signs its own responsible declaration.
Quipu and Zoho Books publish theirs. Xero, another well-known international option, has no Verifactu support yet: the request is still open on its public product ideas board. The full checklist is in Verifactu for autónomos.
Accounting and invoicing are different purchases. These guides cover invoicing on its own:
Zoho Books has a free plan, and Anfix starts at €4.99 a month on annual billing with Modelo 303 and 130 included. For a freelancer with 15 invoices a month, the cheapest plans that cover it cost between €120 and €150 a year.
Invoicing software issues documents to clients. Accounting software keeps your books, reconciles your bank and produces the figures for your tax returns, and the cheapest plans usually cover only invoicing.
Quipu and Zoho Books publish their responsible declaration. Anfix, Holded and renn state that their invoices comply, and Sage says Sage Active is adapted. Xero does not support Verifactu.
No. Each vendor signs its own responsible declaration, and the tax agency does not approve software in advance. Ask the vendor for the document.
A platform records and calculates, but someone still has to file the forms. You can do it yourself, pay a gestoría, or use a service that includes filing, as explained in tax advisor in Spain.
Yes. Export your invoices and ledgers in Excel before you cancel. Quipu, for example, lets you take all your data and attached documents when you leave.
